Graduate Re-Admission Policy (Hide)
- If a graduate applicant does not enroll in a course during the term they apply for, they will need to submit a Reactivation Form (.pdf) and $30 or $60 (for international students) fee to request re-processing of their application for a start date that falls in another term. The reactivation form and fee must be received in the UTA Office of Graduate Studies 30 days prior to the new start date. For example, an applicant for the 8/15/2011 start who requests a new start date of February 28, 2012 must submit a reactivation/update form and fee by January 28, 2011 because the 8/15/2011 start date falls within the Fall 2011 term and the February 28, 2011 start date falls within the Spring 2012 term.
- If an applicant submits transcripts late (after the application/supporting application deadline) he/she will still be auto rolled over to the next available start date by the UTA Office of Graduate Studies if the next available start date falls within the same term. For example, transcripts for an applicant who applied for the fall 8/15/2011 start date arrive on 8/17/2011. Since they have arrived after the 8/15/2011 deadline date but before the 9/26/2011 start date, and because both the 8/15 and the 9/26 start date are in the fall term, UTA Office of Graduate Studies will automatically process the application for the September 26, 2011 start date.
- If an applicant submits transcripts late (after the application/supporting application deadline) he/she will not be auto rolled over to the next available start date by the UTA Office of Graduate Studies if the next available start date falls within a new term. Instead, OGS will notify the student, via email, of the reactivation/update requirement. For example, transcripts for a student who applied for the 8/15/2011 start date arrive November 1, 2011. Since they have arrived after the 30 day deadline for all three of the fall 2011 term start dates, the UTA Office of Graduate Studies will not automatically process the application for the next start date that fall in the next term. Instead the UTA Office of Graduate Studies will notify the student by email that the transcripts have been received and that the reactivation form and fee are required for re-processing.
For admitted students stepping out:
- If a student enrolled in a course and sits out 1 full term, they will need to submit a readmission form and $30 or $60 fee to request readmission processing for a start date in the next term or any other future term. The readmission form and fee must be submitted 30 days prior to the new start date.
- A step out that creates a break in term by term enrollment makes the student subject to the AP tuition rate in effect at the time of readmission.
Examples:- If a student takes at least 1 course in the term then they do not have to submit a reactivation form and pay a fee. It’s only if they sit out all of the start dates in a term would they need to submit a reactivation form and pay a fee to come back.
- If a student started the program in Jan and took classes in Jan, Feb and April, all in the spring term. The student decides to sit out for the Summer Term (May and July). Before they can come back in Aug (Fall Term) they would need to submit a reactivation form and pay a fee. In addition, if a tuition went up in the August term that they readmit, they would be subject the increased tuition price.
Note: It is important to note that admit decisions for reactivation and readmit processing are not guaranteed. Most admit decision will carry over, hoverer, in the case of reactivations, changes in admission criteria or submission of new supporting documents could cause a change from admit to denial or vice versa. With readmits, admission may not be granted if the student was not in good academic standing at the time of last enrollment.

Graduate Reactivation/Readmissions Policy
If a student does not enroll in a course during the term they apply for they will need to submit a Reactivation Form (.pdf) and submit a Reactivation Fee (Instructions are in the Reactivation Form pdf). The Reactivation Form and Fee must be received in the UTA Office of Graduate Studies 30 days prior to the new start date.
If an enrolled student sits out 1 full term, they will also need to submit a Reactivation Form and Fee. When this occurs the student is subject to the tuition rate in effect at the time of readmission.
NOTE: It is important to note that admit decisions for reactivation and readmit processing are not guaranteed. Most admit decision will carry over, however, in the case of reactivations, changes in admission criteria or submission of new supporting documents could cause a change from admit to denial or vice versa. With readmits, admission may not be granted if the student was not in good academic standing at the time of last enrollment. (Hide)
