  • Certified Administrator in state of residence (if applicable)
  • Currently serving in an administrative position or two years of administrative experience at building or district level

Nursing Certificates

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Nursing Administration and Certificate in Nursing Education

  • Completion of all prerequisites, including: Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing from ACEN or CCNE Accredited Program.
  • GRE not required for students with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Undergraduate (basic) statistics course with a minimum grade of "C"
  • Probationary admission for students taking the GRE: GRE required for applicants with a 2.8-2.99 GPA with minimum score of 149 on the verbal section, 141 on the quantitative section, or 3.5 on the analytical writing section (best 2 of 3 sections)
  • Applicants must possess an unencumbered RN license. Two years clinical experience in registered nursing required.
  • International students are required to have two years clinical experience in a United States (or equivalent) health care system.

Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Administration*

  • Completion of all prerequisites, including: Master of Science in Nursing from an NLNAC- or CCNE-accredited program
  • An unencumbered RN license
  • Two years clinical experience in registered nursing required.
  • Undergraduate (basic) statistics course with a minimum grade of "C"
  • 3.0 GPA in MSN degree program

*Residents of Louisiana, New York, North Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Wyoming are not eligible to enroll in this UTA accelerated online certificate.

Pediatric Acute and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificates (Post Master's)

  • Have completed an MSN from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • Two years of clinical experience as an RN
  • Acute care certificate options must have 2 years of high acuity direct patient care in the last 5 years
  • Active/Unencumbered RN license
  • Undergraduate (basic) statistics course with a minimum grade of "C"

Adult Gerontology Acute and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificates (Post Master's)

  • Have completed an MSN from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • Two years of clinical experience as an RN
  • Acute care certificate options must have 2 years of high acuity direct patient care in the last 5 years
  • Active/Unencumbered RN license
  • Undergraduate (basic) statistics course with a minimum grade of "C"

Family Nurse Practitioner (Post Master's)

  • Applicants must possess an unencumbered RN license.
  • Two years clinical RN experience within the last five years required.
  • Must be a Texas or California resident
  • GRE not required for students with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited program and a regionally accredited school
  • Undergraduate (basic) statistics course with a minimum grade of "C"
  • Probationary admission for students taking the GRE: GRE required for applicants with a 2.8-2.99 GPA with minimum score of 149 on the verbal section, 141 on the quantitative section, or 3.5 on the analytical writing section (best 2 of 3 sections)
