What do you want your students to learn in your classes?

In my classes, there are very few tasks/assignments that require students to memorize definitions, lists, etc. Instead, I design my courses so that students are encouraged to apply and integrate key concepts and principles from the textbook, lectures and other aspects of class in a more meaningful way.

What advice would you give to those considering the UTA MBA online program?

There is an enormous opportunity for learning in this program, and it's (obviously) more convenient for students who work full time. However, it requires a considerable amount of discipline and hard work to stay on top of things, since there are no regular class meetings and interaction with the instructor and other students is limited.

What qualities make someone particularly successful in business?

The ability to pay attention to changes in the environment and trends, and adapt to them

How do you see online learning affecting the future of education?

I believe online learning will become more prevalent in years to come, as technology (and the ability to deliver educational content) improves and convenience becomes a higher priority to multi-tasking students.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?

"Guns, Germs & Steel" by Jared Diamond
