Independent of the course, I want students to be well versed in the terminology, practices, challenges and methods to create solutions for the challenges in public health.
What advice would you give to those considering a UTA online BSPH program?
Do not underestimate the time needed to successfully complete the coursework.
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because it not only provides an opportunity to impart knowledge but also a chance to inspire and empower. I have always aspired to teach because I thoroughly enjoy connecting with people. As a teacher, I am able to relate to students and assist them in developing and nurturing their educational goals.
Why are you interested in public health? What drew you to this field?
I am interested in public health because microorganisms are often the underlying cause that can alter public health for better or worse. I am very intrigued by the association and am eager to explore the connection.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that public health professionals face today?
The biggest challenge public health professionals face today is minimizing (or completely eliminating) health disparities between specific populations.
