Designed for transfer students, this SACSCOC-accredited program accepts 60+ credits from prior college coursework, industry work experience or military training. How do you apply to the online public health studies program?
Let's get started! The admission process is the first step toward earning your BAAS – Public Health Studies degree online.
Admission Requirements
- Online application
- Official transcripts
To be admitted to the BAAS degree program, prospective students must:
- Have completed an associate degree or a minimum 60 hours of college credit, or demonstrate progress toward a degree and at least 10 years of work experience
- Complete online application and submit the nonrefundable application fee
- Have official transcripts sent from the registrar(s) of the colleges/universities previously attended to UTA
- Possess a 2.25 Grade Point Average (GPA). Must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA in Kinesiology while attending UTA.
- The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam is required if the applicant's native or first language is not English and if he or she does not hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution. Additional information is available here.
- Official transcripts record all courses, bachelor's degrees or highest degree conferred by a regionally or nationally accredited institution. Official transcripts are sealed transcripts sent from the granting institution.
At this time, the program is only open to United States citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and individuals who hold an H-1B visa or other valid U.S. work visa.

Courses
What will you study in the public health studies curriculum?
For the public health studies online bachelor's program, students must complete the following required courses.
KINE 4354 should not be used as a default BAAS Public Health requirement unless faculty approve a BAAS-specific prerequisite pathway.
If a student has already completed the language sequence, remaining Texas Core, or lower-division electives, replace those slots with advisor-approved upper-division electives as needed to reach 120 total hours.
